Time for Me to Bitch About my Life

So, you know how I couldn't login to get my Sunday shift on Saturday night right?
Well, I got up a t 9am, called and BULLSHIT! I had a f-ing 10am shift that day. I had to get ready super fast.
Then, I had a closing shift on Monday, which sucked (like always). Those bastards left chocolate covered stuff in the sink I use to clean trays at night, plus the there was burnt bread crumbed up like croutons in the trash bin without a bag. I left that shit there. I left at 11:20-something. RAWR! Then after staying so late that night I had another bloody 10am shift today.

The good news is that today was my last day of work till after MegaCon. YAY! Tomorrow is prep day because Thursday is fun day. It's coming up much faster than I wanted. I'm gonna have to made due with the money in my savings account for these event because I didn't get to filing my taxes in time. I know how much my refund is, so I just need to not spend that much. @w@

I got back into reading Homestuck. I wasn't paying attention to it and didn't notice it's return for it's break. I enjoyed reading it back to current and got sad when there was no more for me to read.

MovieNight: Film for the Smart

I don't think I can go to sleep without writing something about the movie I just watched, Drive. So, I shall.

Within the first 5 minutes I knew Drive was gonna be a good movie. It didn't treat the audience like a group of dumb-asses. It let itself tell the story. The protagonist wasn't gabbing his mouth off about what he was doing or why. It just happened. This thing called storytelling happen and well, that's bloody rare these days. I really like how the story played out too. My compliment to the writer of this movie and probably the writer of the book it was based on. Note to self: read said book.

With all this praise all on the table, the chance of me buying Drive is actually really low. It has something and it also doesn't have something and I can't put my finger on it. So for the most part, a fantastic movie that I really what to read now.

I was tired when watching and also while writing this.
My fave thing I said during the movie was:
"There is this place called a hospital. Drive yourself there."
"There are stabs that one can live from and stabs that one can not live from. You are lucky enough to be the one who lives."

I actually tried really hard not to talk during the movie because Jon loves it so much. My sleepiness got the better if me during the end.

Convention of 2012

I've been a convention go-er since 2002. So this year makes my 10 years of going to a convention.
In the beginning it was JaCon, in Orlando. It was started by an anime club from a university over there. It was cool. And for many years I really enjoyed it. Then, 'someone' (read as my ex) told me about a much closer convention called MetroCon. Other than it being closer it also had this 'Anime Human Chess Match' that was/is human chess with cosplay elements. All the years have connecting story plots and such. It's down fall is the dealers room for me. Alas, it may be bigger than JaCon, but the content is very poor. I've had enough of being disappointed with the same old merchandise. That and since I left 'someone' it just feels boring there now.

This year I am once again changing it up. This years is MegaCon! I moving back to Orlando conventions. (Joy!) The appeal to this one is EVERYTHING! It has anime, yes, but it also has science fiction, and comics. *doki doki* I'm gonna be saving $40 to have a photo with Breat Spiner. *big fan* I also what to see how the dealers room is. I hope I'll be able to find awesome stuff.

So, I've got a hotel room, ticket and time off. I need to do my taxes so that I have more spending money. (I sort of doubt I'll get my refund in time though.)

I'm wondering around looking for two things. TWO!!

*flea drops for cat

First Walmart. Nope. Zero flea stuff and no movie.

Second Walmart. Flea drops for one size too small. Plus they had the movie BUT their debit/ credit was down. I has no cash, so I walk out without the movie. RAWR!!

Edit: More happened.

Went to MovieStop to look for Dark City Bluray. I found it on DVD, but no Bluray.
So, I went to get cash and headed back to the second Walmart to get the Bluray.

All in all I spent too much money today. Time to chill at home and watch movies.

New Computer Woes

Okay, so it's been about a year since I've messed with any Windows computer (I got use to my Maccy). Seriously. I had a computer with Windows XP. I knew how that worked.

Dad got new laptop and thus the great laptop shuffle began. I now have an Acer with Windows 7.
I'm so lost. Well, not totally lost. I got Firefox and Itunes on here. I got CCC Pack (for anime watching needs) and a bunch of other things working.
This gave me a great excuse to go through all my bookmarks. So many dead sites.
Itunes is filled with doubles on most of my music and I think I know why. This fact makes me grumpy.
The hard drive is so empty and big. So happy about that.

What a FANTASTIC day! After making breakfast, grabbing a coffee and setting up the camera to video mode; we started. I don't remember what order I opened everything up in. The video knows, but I do not. So, here is just a list (I know boring)::

Okay! Story time. So the One Piece "blind" boxes actually contained one extra piece in each box, making a seventh figure. There were 6 possible figure to get and six boxes. I was thinking I was gonna get double and be unable to have a finished seventh figure, but..... BUT!
As I opened them I was 1 for 1, 2 for 2 and so forth. I soon had 6 open boxes with 6 different figures and one complete seventh figure. I screamed with joy like someone completely too obsessed with plastic figures. Can you guess which one was the bonus seventh?

They are all so epic. I love it.

This also brings me tons of joy.

At some point I switched to taking pictures with my new camera and I haven't transferred those pictures onto my computer yet. They are mostly of Jigen in many poses and my cats because I love my cats damn it.

Sadly, I didn't get any BluRays to play on my new player, while my sister got The Lion King and Jurassic Park both on BluRay. D:>

See!! See what you made me do! (You know who you are.) That Jigen was just too tempting and those are trading arts One Piece figures... *dies* A box of 6 randomly packaged figure from one of my favorite arcs in One Piece.

This cost me ¥3,106. Not including shipping which will probably be another ¥3,000. *internal cry*

I'm gonna love this figures so much. I'll sell off any repeats when it comes to the trade arts figures.

Anime!!!

I was just reading my past post and thought: "I need a new anime update!"

So, I'm done with Nana, Gun X Sword, and Ao No Exorcist. I was trying to start watching Orphen and Sands of Destruction.
I tested out the first episode of Night Raid 1931. It is okay.

I also started watching a JapaneseDrama. It is super funny and sort of educational ( to me). It's called Nihonjin no Shiranai Nihongo. It's about a Japanese Teacher that teaches foreigners. They ask her about alot of thing she doesn't know about. Like how in America we do alot of unexplained things that are just 'part of the culture'.
So it's got me.

Anime Club has been put on hold due to lack of location. Previous location owner moved and new home is not an option. Other friend offered his place, but due to his holiday job he works on the night club normally happen on. So till the holiday job is done, no Anime Club. *sad*

I suppose I should post something seeing how it is 2011 now. Birthday came and went. Got a cake. It was yummy. Got a bottle shaped like a skull full of Vodka. It's pretty badass. Sister got some dino figures. Dad got a cake. Mom got a cake. Raspberry Elegance for the win. Family went to Universal Studios on the 27th. We only did Island of Adventure and even then we spent 90% of the day in Harry Potter land. I got an owl plushie. So cute!

So, I doubt this will post seeing as how the internet isn't on right now. Silly Dad and his restrictions.

Dubbed Review - Like Flat, Undrinkable Soda

Okay, so I was browsing instant queue things on Netflixs and ran into Gurren Lagann. I've been watching my sub only DVDs and was wondering if Netflixs had the Dub or Sub version, so I pressed play to find out.

From the opening I could tell it was the Dubbed version. I kept going because my love for Gurren Lagann is far greater than my hate for Dubbing. Simon voice over was okay and for the first 4 minutes I was happy and the Kamina showed up. *facepalm* I can't understand how they could get him so wrong. He's voice is like flat soda that is un-drinkable. His voice is so not Kamina that it nearly makes this dubbing un-watchable. I paused it right after Kamina started talking and started crying/laughing. It makes me so sad. I kept watching.... I love Gurren Lagann. Yoko sounds right. Her dubbed voice sound familiar. I'll have to look it up later. This should be a form of interrogation. First you make the person watch the Sub version and then you force them to watch the Dub version.

For anyone looking into watching Gurren Lagann I highly suggest watching the Subbed version. Though the Dubbing isn't bad and the translation is done correctly. It just comes off alot more extreme in Japanese. The English comes off flat and not very enthusiastic as I expected. Of course I've also watched the Japanese version, so I'm bias. I just get the feeling that a first timer watcher viewing the Dubbed version would become uninterested quickly.

Forming a Plan

While at MetroCon I lost my iPod Touch. I am very sad and angry (at myself).

It says that there are zero networks available. So, I moved over to my Mac who is connected to the network. My IT guy (aka my dad) is busy till Saturday. Then I'm busy. RAWR!

After Inception Viewing

Are you sure you're not dreaming right now?

I seriously don't want to spoil any of this movie for anyone. It was such a fantastic movie in every way. I suggest it for people that liked Bladerunner, The Matrix, and even Minority Report. For a little bit my head was in a spin, but I just got use to the sensation because there isn't a second of this movie that is wasted. Even the beginning that seems totally out of place is, by the end, put into place.
GAH! Just go see for yourself. Oh! And you may want to make time to see it twice, if you get the finer that is.

So I think I know which anime I liked the most out of the three from my last post. My brain is going with Giant Killing. It just so awesome in a soccer sort of way. I watched episodes 3-6 today. That's 4 episodes. I love this show!!

I also want to watch more of the other two. Maybe I'll find the time to watch them.

Anime- The Truth of my Addiction

I downloaded a few first episodes of three anime not too long ago and finally got to watching them today.

The first being:
Working- {link} It is about a group of people working at a restaurant. They are a very strange group of people. It is very cute and funny. One of my friends will hate it because it is "moe". He hates moe for some darn reason. I think it is cute.

Giant Killing- {link} This is a soccer anime! I can't say that I love sports anime but I don't hate it. The art style is um, odd. I want to watch more. It can ride the wave of my current WorldCup phase. I can't find episode 2 on YouTube. Anyways, it's about an old player of the ETU team coming back after playing in England to manger the ETU team. He was the star player, but he comes off a fairly lazy guy.

Now for the oddest one yet:
Arakawa Under the Bridge- {link} This is just so very strange that I'm at a lost on how to describe it. I actually watched the second episode too because it was just that interesting. So there is this guy that we are gonna call Ric because that's how the subbers shortened Recruit. Anyways, this guy lives his life by the rule of not being in debt EVER. So one day this odd girl saves his life, next thing he knows he's living by the river under a bridge and now the lover of this strange girl. Obviously something that must be watched.

My search for a Durarara {link} replacement is going well. （＾∇＾）

Another Day Out

I need to stop having a social life. It's interfering with my life of responsibilities. Not that I hate spending time with my friends. I just also really like the time I spend by myself.
This rant is not important.

On to what I did today... I spent time with my friends. I mean it is anime day. I took the movie Summer Wars {link} with me. You haven't heard of it? Look it up! It's one of the best movies I've seen this year. Grant it I'm saying these right after seeing Last Airbender.
It was a rather different type of movie in both the visual and story sense.
Imagine: Math wiz boy is tricked into spending four days in the country side by the most popular girl in his school. She needed a boyfriend to present to her Great GranMa. While there he unknowingly releases a terrible A.I. program onto the virtual reality world of OZ. This virtual world runs almost everything in the real world. So by the end our math wiz is saving the world and getting the girl. It was friggan amazing. And even if it seems like I told you a lot, I haven't nearly exposed the iceberg this movie really is. So emotional and epic. A must watch for EVERYONE!

So that was fun. Getting home at 1AM was unexpected. My friend wanted to raid the music in my portable harddrive. In all fairness I got music from her too.

Avatar movie review

Pre: I wrote a thing here before the movie and was hoping it would still be here after the movie. It didn't. Saw the movie with April, Dwayne and John. Ran into Brian and Ms. Anna afterwards.

Post: The need to kill Shyamalan raising. This really could have been an awesome movie, if not for a few glaring flaws. The butchering of the characters names being the most obvious one. The cut up feeling of the film. It really felt like we got the in- production version. The characters lack of development and emotion. The *twitch* casting.
Over all a very awkward feeling movie and I hope it fails to get money so that they don't make anymore. Though I know it will because of the name and I know they will. It's just how this world works.

I may watch this with my family which is better than Clash of the Titans.

Post College Stress

So now that I have a degree my new goal is career based. The impending Doom of student loans looming in the distance has made my parents feverish in the pursuit of job postings. I'm dizzy with the spinning. Meanwhile, I am looking into freelance work to increase my portfolio. I'm finding new joy in learning how to draw buildings. I know, strange. All in all life has been good and I can't wait for my planned vacations from work.

MetroCon is gonna be awesome.
My mom is really looking forward to the new Harry Potter part of Universal.

So, this year is going pretty darn fast. I have news of the chance to start an anime club at ITT tech. I'm really excited about it.So much planning to do.

I'm current at an anime club. Watching GTO TV special. It's not anime, but it's really good and based on a manga. It's a manga I'm currently reading.

I've got an anime I want to watch, but I need to be on my computer. Ya. Typing on iPod is a paininthe butt. It is easier on my phone.
Ya, for un-graduating I got this. It's named DanishBrat.

Rambling and Junk

I really need to tell someone about an anime I just got done watching called 'Time of Eve'. It's only 6 episodes long and can be found on CrunchyRoll *here*. It can best be described as a SciFi because of the android characters in the series. It's a 'I, Robot' meets anime type thing. It even has the same 3 robot laws. I highly suggest watching it. ^_^

In other news, HOLY HELL I haven't posted here in forever. I'm so sorry. This is what I get of getting a blog with no propose. It was gonna be a mix of stuff going on in my life and art I've been doing. I sort of failed at this.

Well, I've been sketching alot. Nothing really awesome well,.... there is one new thing up on my DA (DeviantArt) *here is a link for you* It's Denmark from the Hetalia series (sometimes called APH).
He is my current obsession and broke my artist block, so I am happy.

As a most current of current things: I am sick and glad I have off today or I would have called in.

MetroCon Report

MetroCon was a wacky mix of madness and fun. This year I focused on going to events and panels. Which is sad because I didn't really stop to talk to anyone around me. I sort of regret it now. Next year is gonna be the "screw panels" year.
On the first day I missed opening ceremonies because of the registration line. It was done rather stupidly this year. The could have split the line at some point to make it move faster. I'm loving the steampunk theme. Alot of really awesome costumes that I didn't take pictures of. D:> I sort of left my camera in the car. I got it after we moved our stuff to the hotel room. I did pleasure my need for art panels and Scott McNeil this year. Scott is a blast to listen too. I could listen to his jabbering for hours. ^_^ I did go to Friday night's rave thing. I never did get in the groove and eventually left.
On Saturday I barely got to the chessmatch on time. Sat abit far from the stage. I still understood what was going on. The ending was mad crazy. I really don't see what Darth Vader has to do with anime, since I'm really mostly an anime fan. I do like Star Wars, but it's not what I go to the chessmatch to see. D:<>:D
Woke up late on Sunday. We didn't do much on Sunday. Some dealers room, some chessmatch encore, some Voice Actor panels, some AMV watching. Left before closing ceremonies.

I'm not really sure if I was totally happy with this year. The chessmatch was the beginning of a new arc, so it seemed abit filler-ish in plot. I didn't really look at the artist alley, which is sad because I am an artist. I could have done without waiting in line. I should have wandered in after the line disappeared. Alot of things I probably told myself last year, but didn't remember to fix this year.

On a side note. I now feel like making AMVs. I meet AnimeBella at the hotel during breakfast. It's interesting talking to someone that is a known video editor. She was actually a guest for the convention. I'm even more happy to be able to speak to her frankly.

So that was my experience from MetroCon. I will be putting pictures on my photobucket soon.

It's back to work with me.
My 10 day vacation is over.

During my vacation I enjoyed Busch Gardens... twice.
The tigers new place is my favorite place to go. ^_^
I always take tons of pictures when I'm there.
My second fave place is Jungala.
I get the most exercise from that place. ^_^

I already made a post about the club meeting.
I missed it so much and I'm so happy it's back.
I am also honored to be the logo designer and
blog managers. Though a few of them were wondering why we need a blog.
I think it's an important way to keep everyone on the same page.

Other than those things I just basically relaxed.

Now I need to request off for MetroCon. So soon after my vacation. '^A^

Genshiken Tampa - Anime Club

Thursday 4-16
I went to a banquet thing celebrating my 5 year anniversary for working at the same place for those years. Other people were getting their 5, 10, 15 or even 20th anniversary. Yikes! I hope to be long gone before 10 years. Why I even stayed there for 5 is beyond me.
I got photos from the event and of the clock I picked from a catalog. It ticks and tocks all night long. >_<

Tuesday 4-21
The week before my teacher of Tuesday class was talking with my classmates about skateboarding and I guess he (the teacher) use to skateboard in his past. On this Tuesday I can in to find my teacher with a fractured bone for an arm.

Wednesday 4-22 (Earth Day)
So much happened on this day!
I know I'm really behind on my report things. Gah!
Note to all: When going to doctors, taking parents is just asking to be embarrassed.
Ya. -_- Stupid me.
So after doctors I went searching for my missing sister. She went out for an Earth Day walk before I left for my appointment and when I got back she was still gone. Worried!!
I and my dog, Kayla, went out looking for her. I went to all of the peaceful outdoor spots I could thing of, which ,of course, are a decent hike for where I live. I was out for a good hour and a half before I was found and told that she came home. -_- She was over at a friends house playing board games. -_- I walking alot on Earth Day. ^_^

On way home dog nearly torn off one of my finger nails when she saw a cat. I thought she was as worn out as I was... obviously not. -_-

On a way way way off side question:
Who the hell is Craig and why on earth does he need a list?
** Doctors office had news on. There are killers on this "Craig's List".
(I joke. :P)

A Great Easter (so far)

Early in the day I went to parents place for lunch. It was very yummy pulled-pork that was so soft a toothless person could eat it. That's what 12 hours in the slow-cooker will do.
Sadly my mom still had to go to work today. Or maybe it should be oddly my work place was closed today? Meh. Watched tv with my dad and sister. Then me and dad bathed the dog. It was fun.
Kayla-girl got such puffy hair afterward. I took some photos of it because it looked so funny.

Kayla spent a good two hours grooming herself afterward.

I went home to do chores that I've been putting off. What better time than on a day that I have no work, right?
Not much of an Easter person. I ate some Easter cookies that a co-worker made for everyone and spent time with family. All in all a really good day (so far).
I'll probaby edit this post with stuff later day as it happens.

I had a very productive day. I got some communication between me and the owner of Klyptic Studios (the studio that I'm working for in my free time). He likes all of my ideas on improving the studio's website. I am currently making a logo for the company. From what I can see the studio mostly works on website design. My part at the studio is concept artist. Yay.

Also, after my college class I went to a workshop by one of my teachers. It was really enjoyable and useful. I'll have plenty to experiment with for awhile.

I will see to adding some of my art on here for all to see.
I am abit of a show-off.

The First Day.....ur, Night

Okay, so I got a hair up my butt and decide to make one of these as a journal sort of thing.
Nothing super personal, just stuff about going to Busch Garden, working on my drawings, posting photos I take of stuff, and etc. Just normal stuff. I have a really boring life. I don't expect many people to even notice me.

The blog title is pending.....hopefully I have the power to change it when I really decide what I'm doing here.

Oh! An introduction might help. I'll make one and post it later.
